Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Submission of an original manuscript implies that the work described has not been previously published, nor is it before another press for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor), that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the authorities responsible where the research work was carried out.
  • The submission file is a Microsoft Word document.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Press.
  • Submission of an original manuscript implies that the author acknowledges that the manuscript will be checked for plagiarism against already published works. All submissions will be checked by Crosscheck (powered by iThenticate ) before publication.
  • The author(s) should obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) if the previously published text, figures, tables, or graphic materials are part of the manuscript. Any material without such permission statements will be assumed original work of the author(s).

Manuscript Preparation

Submission and Publication Procedure

  • Author(s) should submit their manuscripts online or by e-mail to oabooks@ccsenet.org
  • All manuscripts should be prepared in MS Word format. Electronic submission is strongly encouraged, which may shorten publication dates.
  • Upon receipt of a submission, the OA Books editor will send a confirmation e-mail to the corresponding author within three working days. If you fail to receive this confirmation, please feel free to contact us again, as your submission e-mail may have been missed.
  • Upon acceptance of the book for publication, the author(s) will receive a notification email. After the payment and agreement to publish are signed by the author(s), the PDF version will be proofed by the editor and sent to the author for a final review. The final version with the assigned ISBN will be published on the website and will be immediately available to read, download, and share by the readers.

Open Access Book Processing Charge (BPC)

  • As an open-access publisher, OA Books charges nothing to readers—all our publications are freely available to download. To sustain this model, we do charge a one-time author fee, which is based on the length of the book.

  • Our BPC covers editorial services, professional typesetting, cover design, multi-format conversion, DOI registration, and global dissemination.
